The workshop "Religion, Politics, and Development" aims to bring together leading scholars to present their work on the topic of religion and economics and to hold an in-depth discussion on the forthcoming book by Jean-Philippe Platteau, "Religion, Politics, and Development: Is Islam a Special Problem?”
Jean‐Philippe has exercised his professional activities in the same institution, gradually moving from the associate professor position to that of full professor (1983), and then to that of full ordinary professor (1990). He is now an emeritus professor at the University of Namur and part‐time professor at the University of Oxford. He is currently a member of the Mandate Commission of the National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) for the field of Economics and business management, the President of the Commission of the National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) for PhD Schools in Economics and business management.
