Biography
Mohamed Saleh is an assistant professor (junior chair) at Toulouse School of Economics and the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse. His research interests are focused on economic history, development economics, and empirical political economy. In particular, he has been interested in understanding the historical origins of the observed socioeconomic differences between religious groups in the Middle East and in the effects of state industrialization and mass education on these differences. He approaches these questions using new datasets constructed from both primary and secondary data sources.
