 erview is provided of several studies using computational tools and digita
 l trace data on mobility\, migration\, and collaboration of the highly-Ski
 lled\, scholars\, and professionals. These studies show different trends i
 n subnational and international migration of scholars and how to use large
 -scale bibliometric data to investigate the global migration of scholars. 
 The talk highlights how migration of scholars is associated with gender\, 
 and country’s development and whether and how it is affected by the collab
 oration networks among scholars. Digital trace data is known to have a lef
 t-censoring issue and the talk shows potential solutions to this issue usi
 ng machine learning in the context of migration research. Additionally\, t
 he migration of the highly-skilled and professionals worldwide using Linke
 dIn data will be presented as a complementary database to go beyond limita
 tions of bibliometric and publications data.
