The Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse Scientific framework
We aim to be the home of academic experimentation and freedom, where top-flight researchers are able to explore new territory in a cross-disciplinary direction and interact with visitors in an exciting environment.
The IAST Research Program is organized around 5 broad themes:
- Individual and Social Networks
- Governance and Markets
- The Nation State and Global Public Goods
- Society, Globalization and Public Policy
- Individual motives, Actions, Innovation and Well Being
The Institute welcome applications within these themes from researchers within a large range of disciplines, such as anthropology, biology, history, law, philosophy, political science, psychology and sociology, though motivated applications from any other discipline will be given full consideration. Applications from economists are also encouraged, but successful applicants will have demonstrated an interest in, and a commitment to, at least one of the other non-economics disciplines of the IAST.
The IAST invites scholars already employed by another research-active institution for visits ranging from 1 month to 1 year, during the next academic year 2016-17. The group is interdisciplinary and international, and scholars are expected to pursue their own research. A completed doctorate or equivalent is required of all applicants.
Fellows receive reimbursement of travel and living expenses and are provided with a shared office and computer facilities.
To apply for a visit of 1 month or more, for academic year 2016-17, please send your CV and a project proposal (maximum 2 sides of A4, indicating whether you envisage interactions with resident IAST researchers) to email@example.com
Applications deadline : 30th November 2015
Applications are still welcome after this deadline but available places may be limited.
Applications for shorter periods are welcome at any time but will be subject to availability of places.
